Development Plans - 2008

#1 by hanako - Jun 30 2008

Things have been quiet lately, largely because I'm tied up on the skating game having to wait for replies from the publisher, which slows everything down.

But to prove that stuff is going on...

Still working on the figure skating game, slowly.

Have been helping a fellow indie finish up a dating sim

And finally, while still in very early stages and this graphic is not complete, Cute Knight 2 is getting off the ground.

There are a few other projects begging to be made that aren't being listed in Upcoming Games yet to try and stop me from getting ahead of myself. Smile So many things I'd like to make, if I had more hands!

Ooohh I love the screenshots. It sure looks like you've been busy. Wink

The Dating Sim game looks interesting. I'm curious to know a little more about it. Smile

It's a Summer Schoolboys sort of thing... the guy shown in the success window is the PC, he's attending summer classes at his university and he can try to date various girls he meets, while keeping up with his studies and other activities. (There are male characters to interact with, but you can't date them.)

Of the three things shown I'm pretty sure that's the one that will be finished first, but it's not really mine so I can't make any promises about release dates. Smile

Ahh I see. I really enjoyed Summer Schoolgirls so I'll probably try this game out, too, once it's released. Smile

Who's game is the dating sims? I will definitely be checking that one out. It looks nice.

And yay, Cute Knight 2 is getting off the grounds! The screen is simple but quite beautiful, Georgina.

And I'm usually not into the mini type of anime style (I can't really explain what I mean, but...). Still, the skating game's screen looks gorgeous. I can't wait for any of these. ^^

The dating sim is a combined effort between me, my apprentice minion, and Tycoon Games / Winter Wolves - their website is here but their previous games don't look anything like that.

The beginnings of a page for the dating sim can be found at

Wow, Awesome! Thanks Hanako!

The girls all look really cute especially, Emma, Midori, and Rachel. Midori kinda reminds me of Sir Integra Hellsing from the Hellsing Anime/Manga.

When I saw 'You!!' Under thone one character that is your avatar I was like :roflcopter: that's hilarious. ^_^ Karl and Emmanuel are probably the cutest boys, but I can forsee Emmanuel maybe being a bit of a snobish jerk. Or maybe he'll be a softspoken bishi I don't know.

The art is very well done as is the UI and other aesthetic qualities. Though all those were expected considering. -_^ The dialog looks upbeat and amusing, like: "Today in class...we learned about the overlooked importance of the liver and spleein in our lives." amusing, and written in contemporary dialog.

So yeah, based on what we see here it looks like a nice interesting contemporary dating sim.

Thanks for posting the link Hanako.

Sorry I've been so quiet lately. A lot has gone on! There was a vacation, and that LARP, and the flu, and all kinds of nonsense getting Twinkle Toes Skating halfway ready (It's out on Real Arcade's beta program, which means of course that mean people are pirating it all over the place while actual customers haven't had a chance to get their hands on it yet. Rolling Eyes ) And I basically haven't even had the time to promote that contest I was trying to do... I can't extend the deadline, though, because I do need to get Cute Knight Kingdom going at a faster rate, so if nobody enters by deadline, I'll just pass on adding user-generated characters. Smile

I am in talks with someone about helping to publish their RPG here when it's done, as well. So hopefully there will be two RPGs out next year.

By the competition, you mean the Fatal Hearts one, right? I'd really love to enter but I've been stuck with ideas for a while. Also, I'd like to ask whether the competition will be canceled if there are not enough entrants, say, only one?

Mmm. It'll probably affect how big the 'guest appearance' is. If there was a ton of competition and great writing and the winner was really impressive, then the resulting character might get subplots and quests and the like. If only one person enters, it'll probably be more along the lines of a character who shows up in one job's random event once. Smile

I still want to reward people for trying even if there's only one person that enters.

Oh, in that case I'll probably give it a go. I'm just not very good at making branching stories.

I can't wait for another Cute Knight, the first was fantastic. The dating sim looks great, too.
