Weird usage spikes

The hosting costs for the forum have suddenly spiked *way* out of normal in the past few months, which is making me wonder whether there's any point in keeping them operational. Almost no one posts here anymore.

I'm tinkering with settings and trying to drive more of the endless scraper bots away, but just letting you know (if you're still here!) that I am thinking about it.

OTOH when we finally get to the testing phase with Zorana, I'm going to need a place for people to post. So probably not completely gone yet.

Even if no one posts, I'm sure they still lurk and reminisce. It'd be a shame to get rid of that! Also, glad to see the forum has returned.

I banned a *lot* of spiderbots (and blocked guests from seeing most of the forum, which I might undo later). Bandwidth usage has dropped but I'm still keeping an eye on it.
