Time for a new poll at last! As always, I have more ideas than time and energy. These polls are never binding, but sometimes projects mentioned in them have come to fruition (and other times, they've been started and then dropped again)

Some of these are new, feel free to ask about one if you want more information on it.

I'm still intrigued by Re: Projects That Might Have Been, though from what I've heard that premise has largely been realized in the recent Undernauts: Labyrinth of Yomi (albeit with urban fantasy adult wage-slaves as opposed to Dickensian urchins). So I'll compromise and vote for college beachhouse in the hope that the evil cult has an evil catacombs to explore.

So, back in the day I used to be really into Ranma fanfic. The fanfic, not the actual manga or anime which I never watched. There's a big cast, there's a ton of ways to pair them up, a lot of ways of interpreting their personalities, and there's a lot of weird gender stuff going on with multiple cross-dressing characters as well as Ranma himself swapping between male and female bodies when wet. However, unlike some properties, it's *hard* to translate the inherent appeal into new characters because the specifics of Ranma and his curse and his fiancees are just too specific.

Eventually I started coming up with an idea for a similarly wild comedy but translated into a totally different setting - a more Standard Fantasy / RPG Parody world, in which our protagonist is a born-female Fighter who traveled the world finding challenges to fight in order to level up, and in the process picked up sex-shifting powers (possibly deliberate rather than cursed/uncontrolled). But her father wants her to marry a prince and become a queen! And she is now returning home to visit her family and attend either a school or a competition for becoming an Official Hero (not sure which yet) but due to family pressure is entering it twice, once as a dashing male Fighter and once as a charming female Bard. And other similarly colorful characters will be competing, and then of course there's all the weird people she met on her earlier quest, all of whom may now come crashing in and causing complications. It's all very zany and over-the-top and probably a bit too high-budget and might or might not involve some actual RPG elements.

(The characters are not direct Ranma analogues, the protagonist's personality is nothing like his, it's just elements of the KINDS of weird characters that exist in that setting that are coming together to create a wild fantasy-comedy cast.)

I'm not familiar with Ranma, but I LOVE the idea of a genderbending protagonist in a zany fantasy RPG world.

ooh, kinda intrigued by "Dashing butch girl-prince is required to pick a princess to marry, Hijinks Ensue" option, I'd like to know more if that's ok? i sorta assumed this is more in the vein of light-hearted rom-com from the description, or am I wrong and the tone is more Utena-esque?

(I mean, i'm always up for another LLTQ game too!)

Yeah this is a ridiculous frothy romp idea. Every now and then I look at the piles of bishoujo games that come out and I have the mild temptation to have an equally silly game with tons of beautiful girls throwing themselves at the MC for flimsy reasons, except that the MC is a girl.

So instead of worrying seriously about politics and alliances and important trade management questions like I usually would make you do when you're royalty, in this case you're more ceremonial royalty who doesn't actually do any ruling and prefers to just ride around the country on a horse looking for damsels in distress to rescue. But you're reaching some landmark age and the kingdom demands that you get married, and a passel of princesses are summoned to the castle to compete in, like, a princess pageant kinda thing, where they're meant to display their charms to you so that you can choose a bride.

Vague ideas for possible princesses:

- The Cute Clumsy One, who seems to have an amazing knack for getting herself into distress so that you need to save her
- The Spooky Goth One, who is covered in black lace and avoids sunlight and the other girls suspect is secretly evil
- The Rich Elegant One, who appears to be better than everyone at basically everything without even making an effort (making an effort is unladylike) and makes others fume with jealousy
- The Challenging One, who has long golden curls and is very femme but also a swordfighter, hypercompetitive, and probably has an annoying ojousama laugh

So they're all at your castle performing their various talents and of course a few weird things would happen as well, suspicions of sabotage, etc, and of course the girls all have secrets they're hiding, but mostly it's just a sea of cute girls and eventually a wedding.

sakdfjhalskfjhsa oh my god, just from the descriptions of the potential princesses I already lowkey ship the Rich Elegant One with the Hypercompetitive One lmao (which is not the point of the game, but. I almost always get distracted by potential shipping between love interests... oops).

i do kinda love the fact that the MC is kinda just there for ceremonial reasons, and the actual ruling is done by other people -- a fairy-tale prince archetype that can stick to the fairy-tale aspect because they don't have to handle the 'real world' aspect of ruling. the pomp and extravagance of the marriage having little political impact would be an interesting situation... it almost makes me wonder if it's easier for royalty to marry for love in this setting haha

Hmm... Zombie, Vampyre and Ghost try get life... and then get a girl/boy and try live help him/her... to something cool ogf them... one day him/her get 3 diferednt dungeon map... just one at get... whose him or her save here... them married...
