First Professional Game Project!
#1 by Jinroh - Mar 17 2009
Hooray I've finally made it to the...kinda big time.Anyway. About let's see...a month ago. A friend of mine called me and said that his company does web development and their "web games guy" had too many projects.
So he called me and asked if I'd be interested in the contract. I agreed and he showed his boss my portfolio to make the whole thing a deal.
His boss liked my portfolio and comissioned me to make a game. Hooray!
So I spent 2 weeks making a game for the http://boyercandies.com company.
The game isn't up yet so I don't think I can talk about it in too much detail.
I made two games for them actually.
One is a simple puzzle and the other is a platform game. ^o^
I was the development team for a measly amount of money too. T_T It'll be worth it though when it's up on the website.
I had about 2 weeks to do the level design, art, programming, etc. of the game.
I'm a decent artist, but I'm terrible with level design I have no practice at all.
So that was definitely the most trying part of the whole ordeal because I had to make 10 levels that were a decent amount of fun and not too easy and not too hard. In the end though it turned out pretty decent. I've only beaten the platform game a few times, but I was going for the old NES challenging vibe with that one. ;)
If they don't put it up in like two weeks I'll sneak you guys the game. ^_^ It's pretty cool.
Once they have it up on the site you can play the games and they'll ship free candy to your house by the points you accumulate. O_O
Anyway.
Have a good day all! ^_^
