There's a sort-of walkthrough at http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/game/934294.html - it claims to be for both the PC and PS2 version, I'm not sure how different they are (I think the PS2 version has endings with an extra guy in it).

I honestly haven't finished the game myself though, so someone else may have better advice. Smile

oh, thanks for the link. im gonna check it out. i just started playing games again and i just got really frustrated because i always get the getting killed ending, and the freaking skip button doesn't even work. oh and a little more help, whenever i quit the game and get back to it a few hours later my save file vanishes which is really annoying since i really need it to automatically skip to the option choosing part. any help with this?

when i played that game i had the same problem, i kept getting killed. It's not worth trying the game on your own. Just use the guide like a holy grail, except sometimes at the end if you want to see the bad ending in which you are still alive, but you don't end up with the guy.

aya_lyka

#5 by aya_lyka - Apr 6 2010

after finishing my 1st ending with one of the guys i stopped playing, well until the skipping and saving problem will be saved. i just got really lazy pressing continuously.

You can use the auto function. I liked it because it kept in time with the voice actors and I didn't have to keep clicking.

Just follow the guide exactly. And KEEP MULTIPLE SAVES! I mean one for every chapter, every time. It's great in case you mess up or want to replay the game.

Well, you've probably already used the guide, but a good tip would be to stick with one guy. Choose all the options related to that guy and you should be able to get past that one part... (I died so many times) Of course, there are some options where you just have to guess, but that will get you through most of them.

aisza_1995

#10 by aisza_1995 - May 24 2010

I have actually finish all endings beside the one where you die...
and I unlocked that extra chapter.
I don't find any difference in th first 2 choices.
At the one of last ch. where you need to go to the castle, try to think about character personality (boys) and choos the one you think will suit him. That's how I not died even once. ^ ^
btw... best ending was.. the one with Jin x3

SilverHyena

#11 by SilverHyena - May 24 2010

Yeah, that's true. I didn't actually die there-- except on a few rounds where I just wanted to see what happens. I mostly died at the part where they all seperate. If you listen to what has been said it does hint towards what you need to do.

I'm partial to Yo's ending though since I like him best... ;P Jin's ending might be the most epic though. Of course, they were all good.
(I've seen all the good ones... most of the sorta good ones... I've got all the pictures unlocked except one... I think it's a Bo pic.)

sayuri

#12 by sayuri - May 27 2010

SilverHyena: If it's the CG next to Yo smiling, you will have to see Bo's bad ending. It took me a long time to figure that out.

I like Jin and Bo too but... no Ittousai fans here? I loved him, and I'm not even a megane fangirl! His route was the sweetest, tied with Yo's. By the way, does anyone else think that Bo was kinda lame?

SilverHyena

#13 by SilverHyena - May 27 2010

Heh heh! You got it! I figured as much... I just hadn't gotten around to doing it. Thanks for confirming it! Very Happy

And yeah! Ittousai's story is awesome! (He was my second favorite!) I'm not really a megane fangirl either (I do go for the type sometimes, but it's not an automatic thing for sure), but the development between him and the main character was so cute! I loved it.
But I know what you mean about Bo... I liked him alright, but he just wasn't as interesting as the others... At least, that's what I think.

Does anyone know if this will work on Windows 7? It looks pretty good but I'm wary of wasting my money if it won't work.

aisza_1995

#15 by aisza_1995 - May 30 2010

Sorry >.< I don't know
Ittosai was cool too. I finished this route about 10 times because it was so... cute (?).
As first I was thinking that Bo is the cool one... but if you try him in the story he's becoming boooooring (stil like his purple hair >.<).
Momo route was fun, not most romantic or something, just fun. I didn't like Mugen one... dunno why.

I warmed up to Muneshige, I actually went after him first for some reason. He and Hatsuhime looked so sweet together Smile. Plus his seiyu is the same as Asuma from Naruto Shippuden and he's pretty awesome. Also Ittosai and Yo have amazing voice actors. I must say, the voice during Ittosai's kiss scenes was almost X-rated. Ah, he makes me melt...

I love this game so far. But one thing; was some of the music from this game used in other Hanako games? A few of the songs sound soooo familiar, but I can't think of where else I would have heard them.

(I'm specifically thinking of the song that comes on what Hatsuhime is asking "Are all the other girls in the world really fine with this?" about being forced into marriage and such, or when she is hiding with Muneshige... It's basically the sad music of the game as far as I can tell.)

All of the references are great. I nearly burst out laughing at the Laputa one.

Anyway, it's a gorgeous game! I really love Yo's impressions. XD Ittousai is just epically creepy, so I'm not sure which I like more. But when Harumoto sings "be our guest" well... it's just too hilarious/bad. Plus Hatsuhime isn't your typical annoying heroine, she's spunky. Love it.

The names are probably fake, but you may check them in extras. There should be a song list, so you can find the one you are thinking about (probably not very helpful, or not helpful at all)

I love the scene with Harumoto singing xD
And this way of thinking... "If he offering me a sweets how can he be a bad man?" or "How you can say no to him when he look so happy? (muahahahahahahaha)"
Also, that they alays repeat that Mon-Mon is not the character that we could get at the end of the game ;3
I didn't expect that this game will be a comedy but, that "suprise" can make it even more fun.

Actually you helped a lot. The song that sounds so familiar is "A Tranquil Scene."

And I too was laughing! The sweets line and him singing be our guest just cracked me up. I heard in the PS2 version they added in Fuuma for sure, and I've heard lots of people saying you can woo Harumoto. I don't know if that's true, but if he is/was a wooable guy, he'd probably be my favorite just for the "be out guest" singing he did. That and the evil laughter that Hatsuhime was totally oblivious to.

I also nearly cracked up at the theme songs; I don't know if the actors are singing it, but at least in some it sure sounds like it... It was awesome. Good but kind of funny.

I finally beat the game for the first time. Well full time. I got Ittosai first, both endings. I almost cried on his bad ending though. XD I'm going to have to go after Yo next, but I need a break to make sure I'm properly prepared to be sad at his sad ending!

It's a shame that the PS2 version was never translated, but overall I'm really happy with the PC translation. I found one error (I think it was like in place of life, or vice versa), which is actually really good for a translation company lately. Such a shame they closed down.

Great game. Funny and sad at the same time! Very Happy

When I first played the game I decided I wanted to go after Kasumimaru but I couldn't T_T. I think one of my favorite parts is when everyone sings "beauty beauty". And when Ittosai joined in... OMG Laughing

aisza_1995

#21 by aisza_1995 - Jun 4 2010

Nice that I helped ^ ^
I didn't expect that ittosai may sing with others (as he is a sociopath).
I also lauhed in the scen in hot springs. When Yo can not say anything besides co-educated (or something... you know what I mean).

Muse

#22 by Muse - Jun 4 2010

Yeah. All the funny parts being said, I still get teary eyed when I think of the bad endings.

Hmm. I just like when Ittosai finally admits he really IS playing their straight man for their jokes.

The whole belt thing after the hot springs is epic too. It's just so over the top I can't stop laughing whenever I see it.

Ahhh Poor Jin. Falls into a babbling heap when anyone mentions co-ed... Rolling Eyes

Whenever someone says Yo I have his voice actor stuck in my head shouting "halfupantsu! Halfupantsu!" (capris in the English text).

Also, this game has a lot of Drama CDs and soundtracks. O_O I might have to get the OST...

Edit: Ok... yo's endings are starting to win me over. First a pop idol then a gingerbread house? Even his bad endings are epic! Laughing

Yo's and Ittosai's seiyuus are a head above all the others, honestly speaking. And their character designs are better (why do all the guys bare their chests?!)

Why couldn't Hatsuhime have been the heroine instead of Sayuri?! Because frankly, I can not STAND Sayuri. Is this the whole "replace the heroine as you" thing again, because it does not work. For the only otome game ever translated, I wished Sayuri was more worthy.

Anyway, adore adore Yo and Ittosai. So I'm going:

Jin->Munishige->Bo->Yo->Mon-Mon->Ittosai

With my favorites in the middle and back to give me incentive! I've already finished Jin and Munishige. This game is extremely funny, if farcical. There are so many epic lines: I love "Do you want to see my Mr. Elephant?" xD And when Ittosai went, "my belt won't untie." or "they all say they want a nice gentle guy, but really, they go for the froofy ice queens and glasses sociopath." (Because that's SO true. Though Bo is unattractive, I must say, despite his pretty hair).

I agree I feel they have the best voice actors. I just almost cried on their sad parts, I really did. Makes me so sad...

Yes, the fouffy ice queen lineis epic. I didn't like Bo at first, but he's becoming my third fav, I think, him or Mon-Mon. It's a bit hard to tell past Yo & Ittousai...
The belt part was epic, too. I was so shocked.

On Bo & Ittoasai's hot spring scene, though, it still throws me off. I mean Ittousai's little mini blank out. I was wondering if it was a little bit of ho-yay in it, due to Sayori's "Bo is very pretty" comment, but I'm not sure... If it is it's not very strong (especially considering Munisige's/Mon-mon's joke scene. XD) Then again as we know Ittoasai is a bit prone to blanking at times...

I still can't believe they referenced so many things. There is even a Futurama one in there, complete with a "wait, I don't think anyone will get the reference..." Plus listening Final Fantasy, Perfect Dark, and Fatal Fury in two lines takes some skill.

I agree; I liked Hatsuhime more than Sayori. But I didn't mind Sayori so much at the end, at least she generally tries to do something during the finales. But it is annoying; I like my heroines strong! Plus her lack of voice acting made me angry. I wish they had just used Hatsuhime's voice actress for it, even if she had to be calmer.

Ittosai fan right here. :3
I have a total tsundere fetish, so I'm always automatically in love with the jerks, regardless of appearance.
Anyway, I must say that Yo-Jin-Bo is my favorite otome game. I loved Yo's impressions and all the references the game made, I was laughing so hard during my first playthrough.

And of-course he is still my favorite!!! Very Happy Very Happy
The second one I liked the most was jin
He was really funny and cute, on his own way Razz
And third Itossai
I don't know but his background was really sad so I liked it's story Razz

I'm not actually objecting to it, just pointing out that it's one of the defining features of this game compared to anything else otome you're easily going to find. It's SILLY. So how you feel about silly will likely have an impact on whether it's a good game for you. There are pretty boys, there's long gameplay, there's a number of endings, and there are jokes.

Oh totally. I wasn't meaning to make it sound like you were, my apologies. People DO definitely love or hate this game though. I've never seen any middle ground.

Also just for the record, apparently the Japanese version, while not totally adult, is a lot more risque than the US one. (No huge surprise there though.)

Solution To The PC Game Save Problem

#39 by Bloomfree - Apr 9 2012

I had the same awful problem of not being able to save my PC game .

First solution to the save game problem is to
Keep the game cd in the cd drive or
If you have a image then the image should be mounted in your Daemon tools or Imgburn or whichever Cd mounting program you use.

Second Solution to the save game problem is to
Backup (i.e: Copy the folder to a different safe place for example: My Document folder) the Save folder which is in the following address:

(For Windows Xp) C:\Documents and Settings\#####\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\localhost\.

'localhost' is the folder with the saves of the game.
Copy this folder to a different folder to back it up.
Replace it when ever you start playing the game again.

Hoping this will solve the save game problem, allow everyone to see the endings with all the cute guys and the Club Yo Jin Bo Extra!!!
Very Happy

Oh man! this is definitely my favourite otome game! I've never come accross such humorous game before... and it also has good graphics and seiyus!! Surprised
i wish they had more games like that translated TT__TT

I also finished all the endings and right now i'm addicted to the OSTs
(they are indeed awesome!) but still i want more!!! Dx

I heard that the ps2 version has more endings and has a little bit different story in which you can end up with the enemies

you can get Harumoto and Kasumimaru.... and.... HAREM! Very Happy

I'm kinda hesitating right now... should i buy the ps2 version or not? Question Question

Yumeshojo

#41 by Yumeshojo - Apr 17 2012

Harumi261: I wish sooooooo bad I could have the ps2 version, but my Japanese is preschool at best and I have no Japanese ps2 *sigh* I'd LOVE the chance to romance Kasumimaru and Harumoto... If you do buy this game (and you can read Japanese and have a JP ps2) I'd be eternally grateful for some screenshots, translations, or even simple plot summaries from these two guys routes!

That being said, I obviously adored this game. It was the first commercial otome game I ever bought, and I still reply it from time to time. I find myself laughing at all the stupid jokes all over again, and I get all mushy for my favorite guys' endings (Ittosai, Muneshige, Mon-Mon). If the corny humor is something you like, I highly recommend it!
