BOYxBOY GAMES

#1 by witchboy - Apr 22 2009

I'd love to have some BOYxBOY games released, or at least have boy/boy pairings as an option in the games. There have been girl/girl relationships in some games so I'm hopeful that there will be something for boys who like boys someday too.

So i think the reason why there aren't a lot of boy boy games being released is because maybe a lot of us are girls and don't want to play a boy(marketing?)? Dunno?

But i know of a game on the lemma soft forum that has a game were the guy is the main character and all of his love interest are guys. It takes place in an art school and one word in the title of their game is "Gakuen". I think. Sorry if i can't be more of help!

Hey
I'm a boy and I enjoy playing as a boy and a girl, the most important thing is a good story, but it would be nice to have more boy/boy options sincw I'm a boy who likes boys.
I played Dream Savior Gakuen earlier tonight, and it is really good. It's a sweet cute story, only about 45 minutes long, and it's totally PG, nothing hardcore, I totally recommend it. Cute boys and a really touching story with a surprise twist. I saw where there was going to be a DSG 2, YAY!
Then I played Spirited Hearts all the way thru for the second time in two days nan that game is addictive!

BoyxBoy games are a HUGE hit among girls. AND they are not meant to be played by boys only, they usually have got some really well-developed romantic plots.
Believe me, a lot of girls (me included) prefer Yaoi and Shounen-ai over the common girlxboy games because seeing two guys together means twice the hotness. These games are most definitely not played by boys only. I am a straight girl and I love boys-love games because of what I have said before.
There are some BoyxBoy games out there that are translated in english, mostly Visual-Novels...
Enzai: Falsely Accused
Absolute Obedience
Togainu no Chi
Death Note: Poisoned (and its upcoming sequel: D.Nd: Infected)
Shira Oka (It's a BxG game but if I reckon correctly you may end with a boy)

The problem with the first two is that violence and rape play a big part in the stories, especially in Enzai. There are also a couple of characters who are listed as 18, but it is pretty apparent that the game designers themselves did not intend them to be that old. I'm fairly certain that the age change was made by the English translators in order for the game to be sellable in the English speaking market.

I'm straight as a line, but I also play Yaoi games. <_< Only cause my girlfriend got me into them. I've played Enzai and Absolute Obedience. They were both rather good. I enjoyed Enzai for the music, the characters, and the plot. And I enjoyed AO for the characters and the endings to the missions.

Eh, I've seen many straight guys like Yaoi before, even the hardcore kind.
I also like Yuri (GirlxGirl), if it's done tastefully. If the story is good, why not?
I am most definitely not against the h parts when it comes to yaoi. They can be really, really hot (even though I'm not into things like shota, or girly-boys, and these are so common!), and they're one of the reasons why I prefer Yaoi instead of the usual kind (BxG; GxB).
Do you like Yaoi anime as well? I've met this guy who loves Junjou Romantica (and I love it too, the story is so great, better than most "straight" romance animes I've watched). Another one that boys seem to really enjoy is Ai no Kusabi (which is my personal favorite), since the story is also really interesting and it has many sci-fi elements.

Ohhh by the way, I am actually part of a team that is translating Prince Maker: Braveness right now (it is doujin a game with the same gameplay as Princess Maker, but with some shounen-ai/yaoi undertones - if you want you might get some BxB endings), I am the image/video editor, and the patch is almost ready, so I'll keep you guys updated if you're interested. Hmm that sounds interesting ^^. I've never gotton to play Princess Maker even though I've looked everywhere Sad.

BTW, I adored Dnd Poisined. That had some intense H moments too, nothing hardcore though. I'm still not sure how that was even allowed because the characters are obviously 13 and 14.

KoiNoDensetsu

Oops, I just made a thread on this...

I really want m/m games too, but I don't want it to have the usual effeminate characters that most yaoi has. (not saying there couldn't be a shoa character though. Razz)

Uhm, Prince maker translation team, what? goes to google and decides to wait patiently for links/info after seeing 20+phishing sites
I've heard some awesome things about Braveness, so I definitely would love to hear more about it. Very Happy
Why oh why do I spend so much time on life sims?
....
Oh, cause they're cute.
And fun. Oh, and oh yeah, I have no life besides work and games. Ahh.

Harcore Yaoi? Hmm... never really seen that. To be honest, Enzai and Absolute Obedience are the only Yaoi games I've ever really played, cause I never really found others that were good like those two. And the only Yuri game I've ever really played that can be considered Yuri is, Raidy: The Lightning Warrior.
And I don't think I've seen any Yaoi anime either. They did have Enzai as an anime, but I considered that a Shounen-ai anime instead of a Yaoi, since there weren't many explict sences.

You don't consider the Enzai game to be hardcore? I've played the game and it's full of tons of kinky non con and flat out rape around every corner, and that's just with the good characters. I'm terrified of what you consider hardcore Laughing

No, I consider the game hardcore, but I don't consider the anime hardcore. The game, itself, was all right but I didn't really pay much attention to the sex scenes. Honestly, I was just more interested in the story, which is kind of weird, I know.

#17 by Sara - Jan 2 2010

I was talking about hardcore games - yes, I found Enzai and AO to be pretty hardcore. Shocked

But as far as anime comes there isn't a lot of sexually explicit stuff out there (I think, the worse I've seen was Sensitive Pornograph - the uncensored version, and it wasn't really kinky or anything, just really explicit).

I didn't like Enzai or AO at all to be honest (I kind of really dislike shota)... Razz My favorite yaoi story is still Ai no Kusabi. I'm into the softcore stuff, and while Ai no Kusabi can get kinky at times (well, it's a slavery dom/sub story) the sex scenes aren't that explicit. But that might change in the new OVA series that's coming out this year.

You disliked AO and Enzai? That's a first. Never met someone who disliked those games, since they're probably the only well-known Yaoi games in America. But then again, I can't really say since those are the only ones I've ever really played. But then again, wasn't there a Gothic game that was set during the Medieval Period? I think that was a Yaoi game, but I'm not really mistaken. But the name of the game, slipped my mind at this moment.

Really? I've met some other Yaoi fans that didn't like them. I wasn't even able to finish them. :S
Maybe they're too dark, I don't know, even though I usually love dark stuff and slavery stuff. I really enjoyed Silver Chaos on the other hand.

You're probably talking about Animamundi: Dark Alchemist, but that one's an otome game, with shounen-ai themes.

Kunnaki

#20 by Kunnaki - Jan 5 2010

AO is dark? How so? If anything, most of the endings were comical and cute. Enzai, I'll agree, was dark. The fact that some of the characters were totured, made it a dark game. My girlfriend enjoyed it, and showed it to me, and I found it quite good. I did my best to make sure I didn't reach the wrong endings.

And yes, that was the game I was thinking of. I tried playing it, but I just couldn't get into it, like I did with AO and Enzai. My girlfriend tried it, but she got bored of it too. I hope they put some new Yaoi games up soon. I'd enjoy playing a mixture of AO and Enzai.

And Silver Chaos? I've heard of it, but never actually tried it. How is it?

#21 by witchboy - Jan 6 2010

Enzai does have a great story, but I found the sex pretty disturbing since the only ukes are shoatas. I'm still traumatised by the mop scene lol
Does anybody know where I can get a walkthru for the game? I lost all my pc's memory due to a virus recently and I'd like to try and get some of the other endings. I did get the good ending with the lawyer and LOTS of bad endings but I'm sure there are other endings I still haven't seen.
Are there any other happy ending pairings besides the lawyer?
I have heard that a lot of yaoi fans hate it because of the shoata, rapes, and dark story. I can understand that. I enjoyed it but I'd like to have something sweet too.
I LOVE Animamundi. The sex isn't explicit but the story and art are awesome! I got every ending to that game, unfortunately it's all lost to me now.

This is the best I could find on Enzai's walkthrough. Its still pretty discriptive: http://desu.moy.su/texts/Enzai.txt

And I personally didn't think much of the sex scenes in this game. For one thing though, I only noticed that Guys is on top twice. Once when he is having sex with Vallewida and the other is when he's doing either Shion or Io. I forget. And for the happy endings, you can pair up with Shion, Vallewida, Jose, or nobody.

The Vallewida ending confuses me though. It doesn't show them becoming lovers like all the other endings do. Oh well.

Thanks for the link. Guys and Io - two Ukes togather, how would that work lol. There's apparently a LOT of the game I haven't seen yet.

Ah, well, I actually liked some of the storylines in AO but found some to be quite dark. I've played it a long time ago, right when it came out, and I was probably underage, now that I think of it. XD

But Enzai is a lot darker, yes.

You can find more about Silver Chaos here. There's an unofficial patch that translates the game into english by the way.

I've got Kuro no Tsuki somewhere in my hard drive so I've got to play that one as well...

EDIT: Just wanted to drop an update about the Prince Maker 2 translation...
We made a kind of blog (http://princemakerproject.wordpress.com/) where we will be posting our progress.
The thing is, the translators could use some kind of encouragment, so please if you have some time and are interested in playing this when the patch comes out, please visit our blog. Smile The more people are interested in the project, the sooner it's going to be finished.
We're also thinking about translating Prince Maker 3 when it comes out because the graphics/artwork is just lovely. ^^

Is Prince Maker an official game series, like Princess Maker, or fan games?

Either way it looks phenomenal. I'm a huge fan of Princess Maker, so thanks for all the hard work translating Prince Maker! Once it's done let us know!

I too like dating sims of all pairings, I just try to avoid anything with too much sex in it. Just not my cup of tea. I would love to see some Bl games out. (Heck, or games where you have an equal distribution of guys/girls you too. That'd be nice...)

Anyway, thanks for the links & Princess Maker info. I shall look into them all!

Edit: How on earth do you get Shira Oka anyway? I couldn't find a place to buy it or dl it. Or is it not out yet? XD

It's been in development forever, to the best of my knowledge it's still not out.

Considering the endless years of development time and expense they've put into it, they may be holding out trying to find a publisher, because they're going to have a very difficult time paying back their costs selling on their own. But that's just a guess, I have no idea!

Ah, thank you very much for the information! I really appreciate it. Such a shame; I hope it doesn't fall into the abyss of "never gets released." But you never know, sometimes things just get delayed a bit.

Thanks again. I guess we'll just have to practice being patient. Laughing

Edit: Nope, the team is definitely constantly working on this game. Also, there are two boys you can woo in this, Kazuki and Hiroshi.
