Spirited Heart

#1 by hanako - Apr 13 2009

I'll be putting up a webpage for this one shortly, but for a quick description, this is a game kind of like Cute Knight except without the RPG elements and with added dating.

You pick one of three characters, a Human girl, an Elf girl, or a Demon girl, and you play through her life choosing jobs and classes to raise her skills, then you try to meet one of the six available boy characters and pursue a romance.

You can download the demo from here

I love this game, i just bought it

Is anyone else having trouble with the random romance events not triggering? My human soldier character is 26 and hasn't really met anyone. Are there specific requirements for the meetings to triggger?

hanako

#4 by hanako - Apr 17 2009

according to the game author:
Of the first 8 basic jobs, the only two where you don't meet them is dancer and builder. If you do any other job regularly (for at least 2-3 months) you should absolutely meet them.
You'll meet the boys for 3 times doing the basic jobs. Once you have met them 3 times you need to check in the relationship panel to see where they usually hang around. For example, Ramas goes in the graveyard and in the blacksmith. So once you have met him 3 times in graveyard, you need to build up your skills to be able to meet him also in the blacksmith another 3 times, and then based on the answers you picked you could have him ask to be his girlfriend and in future, marry him.

I love this game ^^!!!!!! Will the author submit this to Big Fish Games? It would be really easier for me to get the full game if he/she did so :). Anyway,I'm gonna try to convince my father to buy it for me,since there's a Mac version ;D

Biawog

#6 by Biawog - Apr 23 2009

Ok,forget it,my dad already said he will buy it anyway :D!!!!!! YAY!

Another question: How many endings are there in this game?Is there an ending related to each job, like Cute Knight? You know like:I didn't marry anyone and didn't trigger any special event, but I worked a lot as a dancer,so I will get a "Dancer" ending? Also, what are the special events XD??????? I'm dying here with curiosity!

kat_nz

Endings Gallery?

#7 by kat_nz - Apr 23 2009

I bought the game about a week ago and really enjoyed it. Do you think they might add an endings gallery like those on PM or Cute Knight? I think that would make even better Smile
Good game.

jack_norton

#8 by jack_norton - Apr 24 2009

Author here Smile
Yes I'm thinking to add a gallery and a special "god" mode where you'll have to increase your stats in 4 or more skills to reach a special ending.
But this deluxe version won't be out before a few months, sorry!

Biawog

#9 by Biawog - Apr 25 2009

Hi there!!! It's a really great game ^^! As I said before,I was able to make my father buy it :3. Sooooooo.... Would you mind telling me about this "special event" xD? In the brief tutorial (in the beginning of the game),it says that the game ends if you marry someone,if the heroine reaches 28 years old or if some kind of special events happens :O. Would you mind telling me what is this event xD? Or at least,a hint? Pretty please ^^??

witchboy

#10 by witchboy - Apr 25 2009

Spirited Hearts is great and so addictive!
I played all the way thru yesterday as a demoness but I didn't do so good lol.
Second time thru I did much better and was a master gardner and a blacksmith. Almost got the cute gardner boy but I said the wrong thing and that little cutie flipped out and killed our romance Sad
Luckily I manged to switch careers to blacksmith and got engaged to the guard dude.

oops, I forgot to change that part of the tutorial Embarassed the special event isn't in the first version of the game yet, is the god mode I was talking about! I'm adding it in those days and will be there on the update I'll make around this summer, promised Very Happy

#12 by witchboy - Apr 25 2009

Will an update patch be available to those of us who already bought the game? I'm assuming yes but you know what they say about assuming...

jack_norton

#13 by jack_norton - Apr 26 2009

Yes of course, people who already bought the game will just have to redownload the game from an updated link.

Naiomi666

so.

oh thank god. i did not want want to buy the deluxe version.

Biawog

#15 by Biawog - Apr 28 2009

Oh thank you so much!I also didn't want to buy the game once more, just so I could get the deluxe version (not that it's not worth it). Thank you for answering my questions!

I already got all the guys endings and I am aiming now for the job related ones. My favorite girl to play with is the demon one (maybe because I love her reactions xD),but I also love the elf girl.

I recently bought this and I like it a lot. If you're going to implement more features, here would be my wishlist

Items - Tool which can make a girl better at her job, or when raising a particular stat. Mayber a hammer for builder, or hoe for a famer, or a set of weights for when raising strenght, etc.

More costumes - whether they grant stats or not. Maybe we could make it so the job uniforms could be used elsewhere.

Festivals - I've seen a few random events like balls, but more of them would be good.

Its good to see more Princess Maker types games. Maybe one for guys, as well? Lordmaker? Knightmaker? Very Happy

BlackSwan

#18 by BlackSwan - May 24 2009

So I've played the demo and I really enjoyed it! I have yet to but the game, so I was just wondering...

At the beginning you are an adopted orphan. Is the unknown identity matter in the ending? Or does it matter to only some? Or does it not matter at all?

Naiomi666

so

#19 by Naiomi666 - May 25 2009

i've played the game and so far the identity of who you are(your parents) is of no importance of the game.

does this game have a cheat? even only for money. i only have 17 gold coin and the tax will come later this month. im totally stuck.

Biawog

#21 by Biawog - Jun 9 2009

Oh,don't worry. They get money depending on your cash,so,since you only have 17 gold coins, the tax should only get 3~5 gold coins. I don't know if there's a cheat or not,but the game is still very easy to play and win without it. At the start,it's normal to be poor most of the time,so try to get your stats high enough for one of the advanced jobs fast. Once you get an advanced job you won't have to worry anymore for money.

Spirited Heart rules!

#22 by biscuit - Jul 3 2009

I have played through the game twice already! It's really not very challenging once I got the hang of it, but I like the cute conversations and the beautiful art.

I have played as the human, matching her up with Ramas, and then as the demoness, matching her up with Mogrum.

Personally, the demoness and Mogrum are my favorite pairing, but... (SPOILER:

I almost cried during their special ending. Even if they become legends, I felt so sad that they died!

I enjoyed this game very much.

azureXtwilight

#23 by azureXtwilight - Jul 6 2009

I think his name is Mgorem... XD

Yup, I was hooking for him first as well, but I prefer pairing him with the human girl (love pairing from different race soo much!)

I hope in the deluxe version the ending will be much, much better.

biscuit

#24 by biscuit - Jul 7 2009

Ah, yes! Thank you for correcting my spelling.

I am looking forward to the deluxe version as well.

elisabella

#25 by elisabella - Jul 13 2009

Do you need to have a certain seduction level to get the marriage endings or am I wasting my time building that up?

Also is it possible to pair the demon soldier with the cute elf? They totally remind me of my fiance and myself!

jack_norton

#26 by jack_norton - Jul 17 2009

No seduction doesn't matter Smile

You can absolutely have the elf with the demon.

azureXtwilight

#27 by azureXtwilight - Jul 18 2009

No, It's all about heart levels! xD

nikkicat

#28 by nikkicat - Aug 26 2009

I aboslutely LOVE this game!! I bought it in may and i still play it!! You really don't need cheats for this game because its fairly easy to handle if you save before each day so if your not satisfied with how your work went then just do it again.

(I do that so i could marry the guy easily lol)

But i have a question though!! (actually 2) So far the endings I've had were because i got married but if i dont get married what other types of endings can i have??

2ndly will my marriage endings differ if i marry as a elf, human, or demon?

jessicacute

Spirited Heart

#29 by jessicacute - Aug 26 2009

Hey, i was wondering, are there any other special endings rather than getting married? Like endings that happen from special things we do? (i mean, be a princess, an adventurer, etc.) Or variations from the normal endings?

jack_norton

#30 by jack_norton - Aug 27 2009

No sorry, the marriage endings are the same for the 3 races, and they are the only "special" ending you'll get.
If I finally have some time will make the update with some more unique endings! But probably in 2-3 months Embarassed

HELP!

#31 by girls4u - Sep 9 2009

Maybe I'm missing something but I keep going thru the game all the way to age 28 and never able to get an advanced job. I keep the same job the entire time but I can never get anywhere because I never make enough money. Can i please get help!

_Di_

Mgorem

#32 by _Di_ - Sep 11 2009

I'm with the demon race and i can't get her engaged with mgorem. I'm already in the job of soldier and the last encounter I had with mgorem is the one he tell that my sword is in the blacksmith to engrave my name on it. After that I don't seem to get more encounters with mgorem =(
Do you know why this happens?

_Di_

answer: Help

#33 by _Di_ - Sep 11 2009

girls4u, to go for an advanced job you have to go to job options and see in each avanced job which is the job summary. Every advanced job requires certain attributes. You have to choose basic jobs that can increase the attributes you need for the advanced job you want.

Biawog

#34 by Biawog - Sep 21 2009

Maybe you chose the wrong option in the last scene _Di_! That's all I can think about. Or maybe you just have to wait. Sometimes, after the last scene with the guy before he asks you to marry him, some time has to pass before he actually asks you.

sayuri

#35 by sayuri - Nov 14 2009

I really liked this game when I first bought it but once you've gotten through all the endings there isn't much replay value. I mean, it will take me all of two hours to marry the guy. After a while it gets sorta boring Sad. Maybe if the dating wasn't just text with more classic dating sim-ness I'd feel differently. I guess I'll just have to see what the update brings.

witchboy

#38 by witchboy - Dec 23 2009

I recently had to wipe my pc's memory due to a virus so I've lost all my info on games, is there some way I can get the update to the game ( I do have the original game on cd just because I knew something like this would happen someday)
I'm hoping that there will be some kind of record linking my purchase to my email or something.

hanako

#39 by hanako - Dec 23 2009

If you have the emails you got after purchasing the game you should have instructions on how to re-download from winterwolves, afaik.

If you've lost those emails or you can't make your links work you need to talk to jack to get new downloads sorted out; you can try PMing jack_norton here or use the contact info on http://www.winterwolves.com/info.php to get in touch.

jack_norton

#40 by jack_norton - Dec 24 2009

Just use this URL:

enter the email you used to purchase the game, select Spirited Heart and click download Smile

Kunnaki

#41 by Kunnaki - Jan 22 2010

This is definetly my kind of game. I like where you could choose which character you wanted, and then select your background. Plus, I enjoyed the scenes where you could fall in love with the guy, even if they could have been a bit better. Will get the Deluxe version, as soon as I finish getting all of the endings and seeing all of the pictures of the girls.

Also, just wondering, does the Demon girl only one eye? Cause it seems her right one is always covered.

addams013

Strange question: How do "Seduction" and "Charisma" differ? Is one primarily for romance and the other for social climbing/job opportunities, or what?

I've finally begun to get the hang of this game. I especially love the feeling like you have a hand in how well work goes for the week, even though it's still random. Smile Is the "randomness" adjusted for expertise (beyond having success be automatic when certain ability levels are reached)?

jack_norton

#47 by jack_norton - Dec 26 2010

Yes, seduction is mainly for romance, while charisma can work also for jobs that require high leadership (speaking, appearance, etc).

As your skill gets higher you'll see that you fail at your job much less. For example if you have >75 skill in wisdom you'll see you almost never will have a bad day at School job, and so on.

Acquiring Multiple Titles

#48 by faerirose - Jan 4 2011

I'm on my 4th playthrough and I'm curious as to how you get the titles you've previously achieved to show up on subsequent games. On the Character Sheet page the titles always have ""?" in them. Or are we able to get more than 1 title per play?

Thanks

jack_norton

#49 by jack_norton - Jan 6 2011

Ah no titles are like stats, they reset to zero when you start a new game. They're not like achievement, for example.

'Nuther Title Question

#50 by faerirose - Jan 6 2011

Ah, okay okay. Makes sense. So the blanks in the title area, is that the correct number of titles so I know how many I'm shooting for in the long run?12 or 14 I think it is (going off my spotty memory).

jack_norton

#51 by jack_norton - Jan 9 2011

Yes they represent the total different titles available in the game (but you can get only one each playthrough).

RisenAngel17

#52 by RisenAngel17 - May 13 2011

Hi, I was really interested, so I thought I'd play the demo; however, I'm having problems with downloading the demo. After I download it, this window comes up saying that they can't find the specified device, path or file and that I may not have appropriate permissions to access this file. What does that mean? Does it mean I need to download certain programs to access this game? If so, what files and where can I find them? If I need to go to their website to ask this question, can someone give me a link? Thank you for helping!

hanako

#53 by hanako - May 13 2011

What does that mean? Does it mean I need to download certain programs to access this game?
No, that should not be the case.

What sort of computer are you using?

I can think of a few possible explanations for what might be happening, but it would be fastest to get the best details first. Smile

RisenAngel17

#54 by RisenAngel17 - May 13 2011

Sorry, I had a feeling I was forgetting something XD

I'm using my laptop, which is a windows 7 HP brand (I'm not really into computers, so I don't know the specific type...I think it's vista, though. I don't really know because there's a windows 7 sticker next to the keyboard...I knew I shouldn't have thrown out that instruction manual. Stupid, stupid me *wacking herself with a hammer right now*) I'm pretty sure it's a windows 7 because the sticker on the back of my laptop says Windows 7 HP.

Does this help? I'm sorry if it's criptic, if so, tell me and I'll call my dad; he was with me when I bought it, so he would know.

hanako

#55 by hanako - May 13 2011

No, that's plenty to get started with. Smile

When you downloaded the demo, were you careful to get the Windows demo and not one of the ones for Mac or Linux? (Obvious, but I have to check that.)

When you clicked to download it, did you tell it to run as soon as it downloaded, or did you 'save to disk' to run later? If so, where did you save it?

RisenAngel17

#56 by RisenAngel17 - May 14 2011

It said 'save to' so I created a folder. But I think I figured out the problem-I wonder if I don't have enough space on my laptop for the demo, so I go to my mom's house every so often and she has what we refer to as 'the family computer' I tried downloading there and it worked, so if I do decide to purchase the game, I might just purchase it on my families computer; so really, problem's solved. Thank you SO MUCH for helping me, though! Laughing

For those into GxG stuff, I'm going to make a paid expansion for this game featuring 6 new female characters to date. Not sure yet when will be out but should be this summer Cool

Schizoid

Eep!

#58 by Schizoid - May 27 2011

So, I followed the link to redownload my game (I bought it previously, but have since changed computers and lost it) and a strange message popped up when it was downloading. It said something about an 'illegal instruction' being encountered and how I should terminate it. o_o: I've never had this problem with Winter Wolves before...

jack_norton

#59 by jack_norton - May 28 2011

Is very likey that the download wasn't completed correctly, so you should retry. I'm thinking about moving all my old games to use online activation since has much less problems than the download system.

Schizoid

I loved this game! It's so addictive and well drawn, I always chose the blonde elf to play as though >w>
My favorite ending was with the cook, I had to try the most to get him so I guess that adds on to it being my favorite.
I hope more Hanako games are in progress ^^

There's going to be a Girl's Side expansion available around end of August/early September. It will be a yuri game but I recommend anyone to play at leas the demo since is very cute and well written.
