Interestingly different setting for a game... it's the land of Oz, as a Film Noir-themed cartoon. And a point-and-click adventure game. Trial version can be found at Big Fish Games.

I've just played it, and have to give it a thumbs up. Great story, voice-acting, and a lots of nods to the Wizard of Oz universe, especially later books. I will admit to not having played a lot of these types of games, so I might be a grading it a little higher than someone otherwise familiar with the genre.

It surprised me a little, though it makes sense in hindsight. I was wondering how they were going to resolve that plot point, and suddenly its 4/5ths of the way through the game, and then it happens.

Speaking of weird Oz stuff, apparently there's an Oz-based JRPG coming up for the DS.

I actually did not get into this one. I loved the idea, but it seemed to fall short for me somewhere.

I've played about a third of the way thru. I really liked it, the characters are well developed, the art is really pretty, and the story is intriguing. The motion is a little stiff but that's no big problem.
If anyone is familiar with the later Baum Oz books, or even the Return to Oz movie, a lot of characters from those show up too including the familar MGM movie characters.

I didn't really like this game actually, I found the gameplay clunky and the adventure elements way too easy. But I liked the re-imagining of Wizard of Oz.

I've played the Blackwell series by Wadjet Eye too, and I love them. I think they're some of the best-written adventure games I've ever played, and the voice acting is superb, especially for an indie game.

Their new one, Puzzle Bots looks interesting too.
