Hopeful trust??????

Can anyone tell me how to reach the 'Hopeful Future' ending??
I followed the instructions from the strategy guide, but when i speak to randy and tell him is about katie, he say to get out!! I cant do anything!!

Please, i have unlocked all the endings except this!! I'm going crazy!!

It depends on how you've treated him and Katie.
Act like you know what you're talking about and don't say anything that might hurt his feelings or shatter Katie's hope. I hope this hint helps.
