Skipped from Clock Puzzle to Wolfriemen

For some reason I seem to have jumped a few Puzzles - after I complete the Clock Puzzle, no matter what options I pick I either die behind the Bowling Alley or if I say 'Stay Home, I jump to Chapter 3 and the next Puzzle is the Rose Petals As per the strategy guide there should be numerous puzzles between The Clock and the Rose Petals Puzzle
Can anyone assist ??

Remember, the game has a branching plot. If you go one way, you end up in one part of the story, if you go another way, you end up somewhere different. Those puzzles aren't 'between' the clock and the petals - they're on an entirely different path. (The path that you could get onto if you go out with Jeremy except that in your current game you made choices that close off Jeremy as an option, so when you try to go out with him now, you get killed.)

If you *did* go out with Jeremy, you'd end up going in an entirely different direction and you'd never reach the rose petals.
