Can't clean fast enough

Help- no matter what order I go in, my time cleaning runs up right before I touch the last dirty spot. HELP!

This is a little hard to explain in text, so here's one possible route, from the strategy guide:

Actually I was using this path, I had to exit and restart the game and it worked fine. I think it had a glitch.
