Question about Itch.io

Do we have to manually re-download the game every time a patch drops, or does it update automatically, like with Steam?

Depends on whether you're using the launcher app or not. You have the *option* of manually downloading the game installer and putting it where you want, and if you do that then you'll need to redownload every time there's a new version.

Or if you use the app - https://itch.io/app - then it'll automatically update the game for you.
