Assistant dressmaker? ASSISTANT DRESSMAKER???

This was my third attempt at the Strategist ending. The first time I got Street Dancer. The second time I got Waitress. The third time ... ARGH!!

What am I doing wrong? Each time, I easily exceeded the "official requirements" for Mind and Weapon skill. And this time I actually kept a tally of every job I worked so that I could do exactly the same number of weeks in each place. But to no avail.

Strategist is one of the last four portraits I haven't unlocked. I'm losing my mind over it. Help help!

It does seem that Strategist turned out to be a bit too hard to get, from all the frustration in this thread over here. It can be done, but it's tricky.


Your points for this ending are scored by:

The number of times you took the Fighting class (must be at least 5, but the more the better!)
Your Weapons stat
Your Mind stat (less important than Weapons though)
And if you have more than 200 XP, you LOSE points towards this ending.


The reason it's quite hard is that in order to get the ending, you need to spend a lot of time taking Math and Fighting class, but to take classes you need money, and you have to be really careful about using any method to get money because it could end up tipping you too far towards another ending.

One 'safe' way might be to get most of your money by washing windows at the church... as long as you don't have enough charm to qualify for church leader, that shouldn't push you towards any other ending. And you can get some money in the dungeon as long as you stay under 200 XP.

Thanks! By going back to a save from my 20th birthday and then saving before each time I waited tables at the inn and only accepting maximum tips, I was able to squeeze in one more expert-level class before the summer break and get the ending.

Nothing left to do now but Full-time Student, Bride, and Nun!
