requires Direct X? For what??

#1 by RedSocialKnight - Sep 28 2008

I'm having trouble with my video card, so I had to turn off Direct X, which of course means I can't play most of my games. I remembered playing the Cute Knight demo, though, and thought it'd be a fun way to fill the time.

But apparently Cute Knight requires DirectX! No joy for me!

What for? From what I remember of the game when I played the demo, it's all 2-D.

Just the way the engine works. (And allows for various special effects and partial transparencies that you might not notice.)

The lo-fi build uses a different engine that runs on a lot of older setups, but I have no idea if it will work with your directX totally broken, I've never done that to a computer. Smile Try www.hanakogames.com/demos/CuteKnightLofiDemo.exe and see if it works?

Thanks -- but even the lofi version gives me BSoD ... I just need a new video card, is all.

Made with yet another engine, and not programmed by me. Smile

But at least you'll have something to keep you entertained for a bit!
