Instant Speed?

Are there any plans to add this as an option, or does anyone know if there's a cheat code for it (I presume the day-to-day delay is stored somewhere in the global object, but all my GML attempts to get details of that object have failed so far..)

It would make things a lot less draggy when I already know in advance exactly what activities I want to do.

(Anyone who doesn't know what GML is should ignore this discussion.)

The speed control on the game is changing the room_speed - however, the speed control button will correct the speed if you try to change it manually. If you want to muck about with the room_speed yourself what you actually need to change is speedt_button.myspeed - then it will depend on how fast a room_speed your computer can actually sustain.

Naturally if you do this, the button display will be wrong, and it might cause some weird effects on save/load, so I would not recommend distributing this as a cheat code for everyone to use. But if you know what you're doing, have fun.

It actually seems to work, so far:
a) the speed button locks on "Fastest" and cannot be changed back.
b) the MIDI music played during the activities often messes up, either not playing at all or playing only one channel.
c) I have yet to break a save - it seems to revert back to fastest speed when a save is loaded.

On the other hand it makes it a LOT quicker to try out different careers
