WARNING. SPOILERS.
First you have to go for the "Magical Family" ending and beat Orchid at the Wizard's Tournament. When she offers to adopt you, turn her down.
Be sure to read to the kids at the library a lot, until you get the former nanny to tell you about Princess Alexis and her birth mark.
Go adventuring in the dungeon until you get enough sin to be trapped in the slums. Dig through the trash until you meet the pink haired girl. After that, spend your time between volunteering at the clinic and picking through the trash, until you convince the pink haired girl to go home.
Go back into town and get your charm and mind high enough so you can win the Flower Queen contest. When you win, show the Queen your birth mark.
It's a lot of work, but worth it.
