It's a bit of a bad pun. The item is called a "mystical whatsit" - because it secretly boosts your ability to identify other magical items.

Is there a way to increase your chances of winning the magic prize? Higher luck? Higher strength? I still have never won it... It is on my list.

First, make sure you have the Deluxe version of the game. Second, make sure you have both high Mind and high Strength.

Thank you so much! I got it and now I know what every thing is except for a glowing dagger. The thingamajic works!
