1.2.23 now out of beta - New Faces, New Cases!

The current beta introduces new content - The most important and obvious changes are a new set of faces for random students in Art Set 2, and three new case types with four variants each (so twelve new possible cases).

Less obviously, there are new Game Over screens for both out-of-karma and out-of-reputation conditions in Custom mode. The Tutorial has been improved slightly so that you don't have to click to remove the instructions before following them. A bit of hint text has been improved, and some bugs involving the final boss battle have been fixed (we think).

The new case types:
One involves the Auditorium and only happens in the first semester
One involves the Library and only happens in the second semester
One involves girls... fighting? And can happen anytime.

Please report anything weird happening with those cases - crashes obviously, but also if you find places where names aren't being correctly filled in in the text, let us know.

To access the beta on a direct copy, go to Options, Updates, and enable Show Beta Versions. If you're a Steam user there are directions on the Steam forum.

Before I start testing, can/should the semester exclusive cases happen in custom mode?

They do - I think they're rigged to before/after week 10 at the moment.

Hard to get the new cases to spawn... Had three of the second one (first two were identical variants even) and one of the third. Kind of anti climactic solving the first one I got in one action. Did reload and try to see if I could break it, and it was interesting that there was more than one solution.

I haven't had too much trouble getting the first two of the new cases to spawn- I had the auditorium and fight once both spawn in the same week. Haven't seen the last one yet, but I'll chalk that up to my last few runs being really unlucky and dying partway through.

Solving the auditorium, on the other hand...

(I also solved the first fighting case on the first action- how anti-climatic!)

Extra spoilers on the new case variants, for testing help purposes:

Haunted Auditorium:
Open window, howling wind, no actual problem.
Two girls are sneaking in at night to make out.
Girls are holding seances in here
Someone's staging a scary prank.

Library Book:
The book was put on the wrong shelf by accident, there's no issue.
The book was misfiled on purpose by a certain character
Someone stole the book in order to sell it
Someone stole the book in order to burn it

Bruised Girls:
They did something sporty together, it's harmless
They did have a fight, but it's resolved
They had a fight and it will escalate unless you intervene
There's a secret club going on that needs stopping

Beta now updated to 1.2.23

Load/save changes:
* Clicking on the folder tab for a save now brings up a screen with an option to delete the save (and if you're on steam, details about its cloud status and the option to upload it to the cloud if it's not already there) This is a New Feature and potentially buggy, please poke it.
* Load/save warnings have been tweaked slightly (so it'll be easier for us to tell if they're actually related to the uploaded save or not.)

Case changes:
* Successfully harassing or detaining the goth in the variant where she's a bad apple in now gives more useful feedback.
* One of the Delicate Blossom variants now unlocks question/stalk/harass the star's best friend if you discover her through stalking. (Generally, any action that exposes a previously-unknown student's name *should* make her targetable, but we'd missed that one.)
