Competition - Be In The Game!

This competition is a little different than the previous ones. It's not fanfic, it's not fanart, and the prize is going to be something a little bit different...

In this competition, you get to make your own 'fangame' for Fatal Hearts... basically, a conversation with one of the characters, in game format. You don't need any programming skill. All you have to do is edit a text file. I've uploaded a fangame "base" that you can download here - http://www.hanakogames.com/demos/YourOwnFangame.zip

To use this, download and unzip the contents, then use a text editor to read the fangame.dlg file. This file contains all the instructions for the story part of the game. You can run the exe to play through the game as it exists, and change the text in the dlg file to change what happens. (You will need to make sure it keeps the dlg extension and doesn't get changed to .txt - the game won't be able to read it if you change the filename.)

So, for the contest, you get to write a conversation with Jeremy. It can be Christina talking to Jeremy, or it can be anyone else you want - it could be you!

The winner will get to name a character in Cute Knight Kingdom, and suggest some details for that character. You can make it yourself, you can design it after a friend (or enemy!). (Subject to approval - Obviously no using someone else's copyright, etc. )

This contest will run until December 20th. There will be reminders posted from time to time. You can enter as often as you like. There's no required length. It can be romantic, angsty, funny, whatever. You can have Christina just yell at him and tell him he's a jerk if you want!

To enter, email your edited dlg file to Hanako Games Support with the email subject 'Fatal Hearts Fangame' and post a message in this thread saying that you've done so. I'll post everyone's entries on a special contest webpage so that other people can play them, and I'll edit the forum posts to link to them when they're uploaded.

Sounds interesting... Might give it a go. (Though I might suck and fail XD)

But, one question. Can we get Jeremy to talk to another character from a completely different series as long as we don't claim said character as our own?

I can't give you permission to use anyone else's characters - on the other hand, as long as the guest character doesn't appear visually, you could always claim it wasn't *really* that other character, just someone with a similar name...

I made an attempt at this competition and emailed it. I'm sorry if it's too short as I didn't know what length it had to be, if I insulted any of the characters (especially Jeremy), or if I wasn't allowed three character (it looks weird too since there's no picture ). Or if it doesn't comply with any other expectations you may have for that matter.

For competition purposes, it's over. But you can still try making a fangame if you want to. The tools may be fun to play with.
