I heard of this game for a while, assumed it wouldn't be my thing. Enter Steam summer sale, and I figure why not give it a go.

Wow! Not only this is pretty fun to play, I am blown away by the writing. It's concise and clean, tons of subtext and no treating the player like a fool. Head and shoulders above your standard video game fare.

To be fair, as you can tell by my creative username (we can't ALL have wit...), I don't have much experience with visual novels. "Not my thing." Thank you for the change in perspective, I'm going to give some games a second look, starting with the Hanako catalog.

If you liked Long Live the Queen, I'd recommend Black Closet next; I find them similar in that both games are difficult and kind of punishing but ultimately worth it. Plus, Black Closet is pretty and full of lesbians.
