Trade Dispute with Duke Talarist

Sometimes if you reject the Duke he gets uppity and decides to start a trade dispute.

On past games I had the option of beating at his own game (making money off what he did while earning a profit at his expense) but in the patch it seems impossible even with maxed Economic stats.

Is it no longer possible to do in the game for some reason? I really hope it didn't get cut.... I always hated him for being so obnoxious and wanted a chance to humiliate him, though I've read he's nicer this time around. :/

Stupid question, but you sent your agents to investigate foreign powers in week 18, right?

fraid not, I was trying to solve the Ixiom Affair by talking them down without offending Banion or Brin. Guess I need some more Intrigue!
