On the Succession of the Throne

On the Succession of the Throne

If Elodie dies, her maternal uncle Laurent gets the throne. If he were to die, Charlotte gets the throne, presumably followed by her younger siblings in order of their births. And then, if the youngest dies without any children, what happens? Do we know of any more blood relations to Fidelia other than Elodie and Laurent's family, in some obscure Novan History or Internal Affairs check?

That's about as far in the chain of succession as we get.

I imagine there's probably specialist chroniclers who can tell who the next in line is...but frankly, if the royal line dies out that far, Arisse will probably just take the throne on account of being the only one who can hold it.

Yeah, I think that's it as far as direct relatives of Elodie goes. I'm sure she has cousins back several generations that would technically be eligible, but seeing how unstable the family's grip on the throne seems to be it would probably just end up passing to whichever of the dukes or duchesses is strong enough to hold it.

Thanks! I'm still trying to puzzle out all the family relationships in this game. As far as I can deduce, it's "Everyone but Merva, Caloris, and Mazomba is related to either Banion or Arisse"

That's nobility for you. Particularly because Arisse has been marrying her family all over Nova.

Just imagine what'd happen if Banion married Briony.

Don't forget her aunt, Lucille

who is actively trying to get rid of you!

Lucille isn't actually in line for the throne; Charlotte (and her siblings) can become queen due to being Laurent's children (which is what she's aiming for, if she doesn't get power some other way), but Lucille isn't in line for succession.

I do wonder where Lucille's nobility came from, though. There appears to be no verified connection between her and Merva.

I know! She's a commoner who seduced Laurent, and for some reason no one ever mentions this. : P

Well, Lucille does have one bit of evidence that her family was connected to the old Mervan line... but it's not exactly conclusive. Smile

Give me an AK-47, some grenades, and a rocket launcher... and I'll take the throne.^_^
