That First Skill Check

Depending on whether you allow Juliana to say or not, the very first skill check is either a Reflexes check or a Composure check. I have gone through games where I failed the check and games where I made the check, but I haven't noticed any particular positive effect of making the check. It only seems to change which mood change occurs in that moment.

Has anyone else noticed any particular change that occurs if the check is made?

If Julianna wasn't there and you failed the check, this will unlock some information which is part of a particular plot thread.

Otherwise, this is largely a mood-setting scene getting the player ready for having death attempts all over the place.
