Text Fast Forwarding

Hi everyone.

Sorry if I am missing something obvious, but how can I get the text to fast forward? In the preferences, I have it set to 'Only skip seen' but I am on my third play now and it is definitely not skipping anything. Do I have to press a certain button to get it to skip or something like that?
