I figured I needed to make the Lore check re: the keythong, but I did and I'm still getting "She's looking for an adventure... well, I don't have any to suggest to her!" Am I on the wrong track entirely?

If I remember correctly, you need to know the history of your land really well in order to initiate this event. You could actually ignore Lore, just get History up around 80 I believe.#3 by Morgan_R - Jul 2 2012
Really? I maxed my Novan history too, since I thought there was a check for that... I didn't see it this time around, though. Huh.

The adventure you actually go on with Briony isn't until later in the game - you can't suggest anything to her at the time of her first letter. It's when you meet her at Gwenelle's party that you need to pass the Lore/History check.#5 by Morgan_R - Jul 3 2012
Thanks for the tip! Now all I need to do is prevent civil war so I don't have to use poor Briony as a bargaining chip...

Argh. Now I've had my little adventure (which was great, especially the unexpected skill check at the end), but in the process of preparing, I kinda underprepared for the boss. I'm sure there was some overshoot on some of my checks, but without knowing which ones, I'm honestly not sure how to tackle my next playthrough... hmm.#7 by hanako - Jul 4 2012
I did do a test run completing the adventure with Briony, returning safely, and making it to coronation, so I know it can be done without cheats. But it was a while ago, and don't ask me to remember all the steps.#8 by Morgan_R - Jul 4 2012

If you get the rebellion after you've gotten her to come to the palace. It happens before you can go to the forest.
