Forest Monster (SPOILERS)

Okay, after burning an afternoon, several queens, and lots of save-scumming, I have still been unable to get past the monster in the forest and find the treasure. Is this one of those "probably inaccessible" things or am I just doing it wrong? I managed to get as far as the skill check for running, but when I raised up another queen who would be able to pass that and all the other required skill checks, I got killed by bandits on the way to the party.

Passing all the checks with the monster results in the two of you running back to the castle.

Is there any way for Elodie to go to the forest alone?

I went through a few times to pass every check in that scene, hoping something might happen. There's no way to get past it, only survive the encounter. Unless I missed something? /:

The best you can do is survive to tell the tale (and even that was a late addition - it used to be going down there was just plain DOOM).

However, it is possible to have your epilogue include Elodie making plans to explore the area properly, iirc. More properly than a couple of crazy teenagers sneaking off to do something incredibly dangerous on their own!

Aww there was actually an instant DOOM option, would have loved it to stay

- it would mean that there IS something you CANT do in the game

Trying to have Julianna executed is a bad idea.

Trying to feed Charlotte to the kraken while her mother is still around is a bad idea.

One thing I don't get.

The forest monster kills them off there.

But I thought monsters like that did -other- things to young girls instead now.

People can imagine horrible things if they're into that, but that sort of thing is not appropriate for actually taking place in my games.
