Bandits

(Making a few help topics for particular events in the game so people can discuss how to GET the event, how to AVOID the event, and how to SURVIVE the event.)

It is possible that at some point you will encounter bandits on the road.

To avoid this entirely, you can skip Gwenelle's birthday party, or if you deal with the source of the problem the bandits will never attack in the first place.

You can survive the attack by hiring bodyguards who will fight off the bandits, having very quick reactions (thus avoiding being shot) or by knowing a lot about medicine and having strong willpower.

I managed to survive the attack by having a score of 50 in BOTH archery and reflexes. One time I had 50 in archery and only 48 or something in reflexes (or maybe it was the other way around - I've been playing a lot in a desperate attempt to win) and I died - it appeared that I needed 50 in both to avoid being shot.

It's the combination of the two that matters in this case, so if you have one to 100 and the other to 0 it'll still work. They just have to add up.

Wait, what's the source of the problem? I didn't get Archery enough in time, and my princess kept shoving the arrow into her guts, even at 50 battlefield med.

Either the commoners really hating you or a certain someone who spends a lot of the game trying to have you killed.

You need 70 battlefield med to pass that check.

Yup, and I got my ass kicked due to my princess deciding it's a good time to scream after managing to get the wound to not kill her dead.

I'm going to go dump a lot into archery + reflexes...

Thank you for the tips. I'll try it out, now to plan when to take the classes to raise the necessary skill to the right level. Hopefully Elodie's mood will cooperate
