Giving a Gift Code

So I have some questions. I really love the game and when it goes live I want to purchase a copy for my friend in Australia as a gift. Will there be any way to buy the game, but have the recipient email/this is your download link code go to that person? Such as a gift function like Steam?

I would like to make sure that if they lost their copy or didn't save their installer they would be able to contact you guys directly for a replacement. I don't want to force them to have to contact me so that I can contact you to get another copy for them.

I know it's possible to buy a gift certificate through BMT Micro that can then be used to purchase whatever software on offer, but that's not quite the same thing. I'll look into it.

At the moment there are two options for sending the game as a gift:

1. I can set up a special link that allows you to buy a gift certificate for the correct amount. You will then receive a code in the mail. You can send that code to someone else and they can use it to buy a game. This works but it's sort of fiddly.

2. Buy a CD copy of the game and send that instead.

(We do HAVE CD copies, although I haven't announced them on the website yet. I'll be putting them up in the near future after the big launch passes.)

We're currently trying to get the vendor to set up a better way to let you just buy the game you want as a gift, but they don't have a feature for it at the moment so it will take some time to sort out.

Let me know if you really want me to build the gift certificate thing.

Hey,

I'd rather wait to see if the vendor manages to add a gift code option.

Option 1 seems like a lot of extra work for you for something not a lot of people might want to use.

Option 2 I can't afford this one not after factoring in additional costs for the CD and then paying the costs for shipping to Australia.

Okay! At long last there is finally a gifting option on the order form.

When you go to the shopping cart page, you should now see a tickbox for "Purchase is for someone else". If you select that, you can enter someone else's email and send the game as a gift to them.
