How can i update my game

"i bought it from steam and I've looked at other forums but when i go to the options menu there is no updater button"

Steam has its own built-in update system, so we have to disable ours to prevent the game from getting out of sync. When there are new stable updates they will be automatically delivered through Steam; you don't need to manually update.

Slightly on topic. How do you cheat in the steam version? I want to see what happens with the personalized cupcakes. ^_^

Not much really, since those are intended to be impossible to get.

At the moment it's very difficult to cheat if you have the Steam version. If you're comfortable poking around a computer, it's possible to create a hacked save in a different version and load it into the Steam version; PM me if you want those directions, but it's a bit of a pain.

I saw there was an upgraid avaiable. When I go to apply it it sits there I click the banner that pops up.(expecting for it to ask for a key) and it flips out then opens a screen to install the upgrade after that it tells me something like I have used the wrong key ( it never asked me for a key) This is new it is the copy I downloaded from your site days ago. I have not applied the key yet.

Any help would be appreaciated

I'm not sure what you're clicking on, but there is NOT an update available. We haven't released a patch in quite a while.

(There is an alpha patch, but those are for internal testing only. Never upgrade to anything alpha unless you've been specifically told to! That's why it's got big warning buttons all over it!)

I'm not quite sure what happened (quite possibly it's reading your old Steam key), but it doesn't particularly matter at the moment since there is NOT an update. When there actually is an update it will be announced.

I can image you are quite busy. I know I have not been here long but I would be more than happy to help out anyway I can. Even if it is just as a sounding board

I can tell you my experience in private if you are interested (no game designing esp though)

If you had the Steam version, it will default to using the Steam key - which can post to the yearbook, but not download upgrades. You'll need to replace the Steam key with the key in your receipt email from BMT Micro if you want to download updates (though, as Hanako points out, most people probably don't want to download alpha updates.)
