Save file location and hi im new :3

Hi! I just started playing MD about a week ago and I have yet to pry myself off it. I was thrilled to find this forum of like-minded individuals and I just had a quick question...

Does anyone know where the game's save files are kept?

I've been playing the game on my bf's computer and I wanted to take it home with me. I checked the obvious places like 'My Documents' and the main file but I can't find it anywhere. I also tried simply moving the entire file onto a usb and opening it on my home computer but still nothing.

It's not super important, mainly I wanted to keep my achievements and gallery in one file, you know? Instead of having two half-done games lol. Plus I'm always checking back over diary entries for events and so on.

I know I'm rambling sorry. Just excited to be able to talk to someone about this game

Depends slightly on what exact operating system you're running.

On mine, it's

Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\RenPy\MagicalDiaryHorseHall

My bf uses vista and my home computer is XP

I've checked the general 'Documents and settings' and 'My Documents' paths and it's not turning up. I tried doing searches as well but I know if the wording isn't exactly right it won't turn up.

It's so weird. Almost like the save files appear like magic!

Search for MagicalDiaryHorseHall and you should find the folder that contains all the saves on all OSes. On Vista, I believe the default location is
C:\Users\(your username)\AppData\Roaming\RenPy\[game name]\

The AppData file was hidden for some bizarre reason. My beloved saves!
