Smart?

Does smarts have anything to do with learning in classes, or is that pretty much random? Just bought it, so don't want any real spoilers, but the lack of a basic manual is frustrating.

Also what about stress, I mean clearly it's not a GOOD thing, but .. a bit more info on what it does/affects would be sorta nice!

The Smart stat affects your available magical energy. This will probably become clear when you get to one of the exams where you can cast spells, and have a limited pool of MP to cast from. So it doesn't change anything about learning spells, but a high smart stat will make you better able to use them.

It also affects dialog choices sometimes. You may get extra options, or have certain options turn out better, if you are smarter.

Stress affects your chance of success when taking classes or similar activities. If you are stressed, you are more likely to fail.
