I believe (iirc) Janet is from India, so Indian-American? I think she references it a couple times.

I agree though, I love her personality and looks. Gorgeous.

And since it's anime style it is perfectly normal for her to have blue eyes and purple hair naturally . Just kidding, I love Janet too .

I don't think I've seen anyone from India with pink hair though.... Anyway, my belief is she defected from somewhere in the middle east, and yes, I'm totally crushing on her....
