How do you gain access to it. I have beaten all of the other boss' but this one it just says that there is a spiderweb covering the way to get to the lower level

You need to talk to Tirith in the desert and he'll tell you how to destroy the webs.

You'll want to save before opening it, though - the battle with the boss is VERY difficult and if you lose you'll get a not-so-nice ending.

Speaking of which, does anyone have any advice on how to beat him? I'm currently stuck on it.

For a magic-user, some charms work better than others.

For a fighter, try to find items or food that might protect against poison/disease.

Ah, well I ended up beating him by using the cheat code to raise my health to 999 - that made it easy. ;)

I made sure my HP and MP was at Max, and recommend having over 100 in both.

Magic should be decent, mine was about halfway, with mid-decent strenght, attack, and defense.

What really did it was using the clover spell with a nut wand, extremely effective, especially if you have 100+ magic.
