Marriage Options (spoilers)

#1 by hanako - Nov 13 2009

This thread is for listing characters that you've found you can get marriage endings with. For some of them, even knowing the character EXISTS could be a spoiler, so. Smile

If you have something to share, tell people who you've married and how to achieve it!

eiriene

#2 by eiriene - Nov 13 2009

Well, if you end up as a Housewife, you marry Gordy and inherit the farm.

mas721

#3 by mas721 - Nov 13 2009

How exactly do you marry Gordy with the housewife ending? I got that ending but didn't marry anyone. I spent most of my time cooking.

eiriene

#4 by eiriene - Nov 13 2009

I had fought a couple of monsters in dungeons, which made him more interested in me, I think.

sayuri

#5 by sayuri - Nov 14 2009

I *think* you can marry the blacksmith. He told me he liked me but I turned him down Rolling Eyes. And if anybody else is stuck on Al I know how to get past the painting conversation.

Naiomi666

cal

#6 by Naiomi666 - Nov 14 2009

is there anyway to talk to cal again after he tries to take back a dress?

Aletea

#7 by Aletea - Nov 14 2009

I'm pretty sure you can marry the blacksmith. If you say you like him as well, he gives you this metal collar; tells you that when you figure out what it is, go and talk to him while wearing it. I think you have to expand your crafting skill to figure it out - I'm still working on that
I had fought a couple of monsters in dungeons, which made him more interested in me, I think.
i think you can marry the black smith too. he gives you a bracelet and he tells you to come back after you figure it out what it does. But i don't know what it does. Can anyone tell me?

Lol, a metal collar doesn't seem that romantic. Kinda seems S&Mish Razz.

You're right. If he gives you the metal collar and you have high enough crafting, you'll automatically know what it is and he'll ask you to marry him.

Also, After Mossas the eel merman gives you the pink shell after confessing that he likes you, what do you do after that?

cruelhazel

#11 by cruelhazel - Nov 14 2009

What traits are you stacking to get the shell interaction with Mossam? I freed him and got his thanks at the beach, but he hasn't given me any new interactions since then...

liz4187

#12 by liz4187 - Nov 14 2009

Spoiler: Go fishing a couple of times until you see that Mossam has something to say.

Spoler 2: As for after the necklace: Wear it and be patient

Marriages I got:

Alaric the prince, Mossam, the black smith, the inn keeper, and Taran

Braidybunch123

#13 by Braidybunch123 - Nov 14 2009

Liz, thank you very much. Very Happy I have a few more questions, though.

1. How did you get the inkeeper to marry you?

2. I know you meet Taran when you're working as a scribe, but after he tells me that he is training to be a healer, Elsa came and I had the whole discussion with her. Everytime I tried to be a scribe or take the classes after that, he wouldn't show. What am I doing wrong?

liz4187

#14 by liz4187 - Nov 14 2009

1. I worked at the Inn a lot, there may have been some other stats involved but it seemed to come naturally after working there so long both as a waitress and as security.

2. I have to admit I had the same problem as you and I had it twice. At the part you are at take a visit over to Astronomy and take a class. You will probably get stuck again after that (as I did) so if you want the next hint I will place it below

Go to the dance competition at the festival.

Liz;

I went to the dance contest during the Summer Solstice and I won. After that, nothing happened. Am I supposed to lose against him?

liz4187

#17 by liz4187 - Nov 15 2009

Strange.... I won when I did the contest, but you should be able to talk with him again in the desert after the festival

perch

#18 by perch - Nov 15 2009

For the Blacksmith one how high a crafting skill do you need? I'm over 300 and have the circlet/choker and still nothing. I also have 200 mind.

Braidybunch123

Strange...Try closing your outfit window and scrolling over it again. Also, maybe art might help?

Liz, thank you very much. Smile

#20 by perch - Nov 15 2009

Thanks Braidy! I tried that and it didn't work so I just unequipped it and bam, I could see what I needed to and then get the ending. I was seriously wondering if I had to hit 400 or something for the ending.

@ aya_lyka

Ditto for me. As soon as I got my email notification that it was out I nabbed it up. I've never been disappointed before and loved the first game.

Oh also, has anyone managed to get any endings with females? I loved the librarian one in the first game and I'm hopeful for getting at least one this game.

What are your skills? When I did it, I had very high fighting skills such as attack, defense, etc. If he paints you as a queen wearing armoured boots, then he should have another chat option open after that.

I am so stuck on Taran right now, it's ridiculous. I've tried going to every single class and job in the kingdom and still, no chat options or random meetings with him. I thought this would work since he was trying to learn everything he could, but apparently not. Sad

Also, is there any chance to marryCal? I found out you can talk to him again if you work as a bouncer for a while after he asks for a refund on the dress. He'll tell you he's getting married, but I think there might still be a way to marry him, but i'm not completely 100% on that.

perch

#31 by perch - Nov 15 2009

I've found the Blacksmith, John the Tavern owner, housewife and candlemaker so far.

For Tavern Owner once you've done the animal dungeon in the north and the sewer dungeon he'll want to hear of your exploits. A little while later when I went back to the city he had another chat option and asked for marriage. I said yes the first time and got that ending, but unfortunately my sin was high (trying to adventure for the gordy ending) and I ended up getting a bittersweet ending. I haven't said yes after getting my sin removed so I don't know what the dialog change is (I hope there's one, otherwise what a sad ending).

Question 1: Does anyone know how to resolve Armand/Morris? I've gotten to through enough to know that they love each other but Armand won't leave the capital and Morris won't leave the beach. Also props Hanako for putting in a gay couple. Unexpected but great for my character to have that side quest to try and get them together. Never mind, I unexpectedly had the answer in my items.

Question 2: Anyone have any tips for Helena the hunter? I've gone hunting with her, had a few blush interactions, but she hasn't wanted to chat in a while. I know when I was doing the blacksmith ending that at one point she wants me to identify an object for her and that part I haven't done again (I don't have a high enough crafting yet). Any suggestions?

I'm currently saving my game and trying to work towards the Gordy, Mossus & Taram endings (by back loading as I get each ending).

liz4187

#32 by liz4187 - Nov 15 2009

Out of curiosity how did you resolve Armand/Morris

I got to the part where they talk about how the other won't move once but then couldn't recreate it when I went beck on another file

You have to have won the dance contest during the festival and then visit Armand after the point you're at and a new option will open up.

After completing the painting conversation go to the Midsummer Faire. Enter the dance competition there and there should be a message about Al.

For Taram:

I couldn't get this one until I made sure to have seen him at the museum in the city and help him with a book question (he gave me a flower), two or three times at the magic trainer when I was a scribe (from him being hurt until I found out he was going there to train) and when I either took classes or babysat for the astronomer and talked to him after that. Then I won the dance contest and was able to do all his interactions in the desert when he's standing there.

If you dance with Taran and trip does that mean you don't have enough dance skill to marry him? Would studying dance fix this or is it already too late?

emichan

#39 by emichan - Nov 18 2009

i think he only asks you to dance once, if you don't dance well then that's probably the end... i'm not sure though, maybe after another festival?

elenora

#40 by elenora - Nov 19 2009

Could anyone help me a bit with this question, please? After I saw Alanna at the Midsummer festival and then go back to talk to Al, I was able to talk to both siblings. At that point, if I refuse Al's courtship, is there any chance for me to court Alanna instead?

If not, is these any option in the game for me to court Alanna or vice versa?

Thank you very much for the help.

emichan

#41 by emichan - Nov 19 2009

there is an ending with Alanna but I'm not sure if it counts as courting or not... look at the 'prime minister' ending

elenora

#42 by elenora - Nov 20 2009

Thanks, emichan. I actually was looking for possible ending like Princess, just with a little quirk. But now that I know it is not possible, that is fine. Thanks again.

I looked into matter and there are two events with Helena outside her job- one if you work at a beach as a dancer, though it is doubtful she appreciates it (but I do not know I never experienced the even in-game) and if you do jewelcrafting (you need over 60 magic). Also there seems to be an conversation option with Betty, who will push you two together. Furthermore- if I am reading things correctly, you must have had told Helena that she is beautiful when Alaric asks to paint her.

perch

#44 by perch - Nov 20 2009

Hmmm Okay thank you Gladi. I wonder if they mean the blacksmith interactions and whether you have to reject all his advances...in which case there's also a blacksmith interaction at the city in the tavern too and one at the beach vacation lady.

I'll test these while also interacting with Betty a lot (she has a ton of dialog). Thank you!

Speaking to Cal A Second Time

#45 by Dreije - Nov 20 2009

After you've spoken to Cal at the clothing store,

Spoiler:Work with the chef for a while and eventually he will stop by and say hi and make you blush. If you go back to the clothing store, he will try to return his fiance's dress. Offer to buy it, he will tell you you're sweet and make you blush. Not sure what's next, but I'm working on it.

joannesweeny

#46 by joannesweeny - Nov 21 2009

I'm still stuck on Armand/Morris. I've gotten Armand to visit Morris but then what? Is that all there is for them?

perch

#47 by perch - Nov 21 2009

As far as I know yes, the only other perk is that if you haven't already tried to Armand will now take Tithas' book because you're asking him to.

joannesweeny

#48 by joannesweeny - Nov 22 2009

Interesting, thanks.

As for Cal, any updates on that? I've offered to buy the dress back for him both when I could afford it and when I could not. When I could afford it, I offered to wear it for him and he turned me down flat. Anyone get any further on this?

Dreije

#49 by Dreije - Nov 22 2009

I'm not sure what to do next with cal, but when I was working towards another ending, I saw Cal or a guy who looked like Cal while I was working at the museum, so that's what I'm going to try next.

joannesweeny

#50 by joannesweeny - Nov 23 2009

Was that Taram? He visits in the museum. I've also heard that Cal visits you at the inn but I'm not sure about that one.

Dreije

#51 by Dreije - Nov 23 2009

It's not Taram (although Taram visited too), it definitely looks like Cal, but I don't think it has anything to do with the marry Cal ending because when I answered his question I just has something about "Helping people understand Art makes me feel good" and there's not mention of him actually being Cal. I'll try that inn thing tho. Thanks for the tip. Do you know if it matters if you're working as a waitress or a bouncer?

joannesweeny

#52 by joannesweeny - Nov 23 2009

Not sure, sorry.

perch

#53 by perch - Nov 23 2009

Cal will visit you three times where you identify him as Cal (he is the museum guy, but I don't think it matters). If you work as a bouncer you see him again and have the last interaction I've managed to get with him. What you do is different depending on whether you have high sin or not, but I don't think it effects an ending with him. Not sure though.

Also if you run into him with the dress issue and you've worked for the shopkeeper there is a dialog if you refuse to refund him.

tamda

eiriene:

Well, if you end up as a Housewife, you marry Gordy and inherit the farm.
Gah, I thought that's what would get him, but I never did get him... hmm *goes to try again* Stupid boy, maybe because that save I hadn't bought the staff from him/worked as a salesgirl.

Also, Cal, is a hard nut, tried all the dress options, the museum, never got him as a bouncer. I'll need to buff up on my endings as soon as I have the dungeon lists done. Very Happy

There needs to be a master huntress/demon ending... >.> Something for having gone through and killed one of everything in the game, Adventurer and Conquerer just aren't quite right. XD
(Fave ending in Princess Maker was the Demon Queen ending.)

Actually, is there an evil man to marry? Pirate doesn't count as they are sweet and awesome, even when I have 80 sin. Razz Besides being a Shojo-ai pairing.
Also, has anyone managed 100 sin yet? I cap out at 80, with full theif, killing, fishing, hunting sin. Am I missing a sin type?

Not that I ever ever would do evil things. *cough*
Why oh why do I spend so much time on life sims?

About sin types:

One of the types is 'murder', which is different from just normally killing things in combat. There are only a few ways to get murder points.

And keep your ending requests in mind for when I do the free bonus expansion next year. Smile

tamda

#56 by tamda - Dec 5 2009

Ohh ohh ohh!!!! I plan to SO enter that contest when it opens!!!! Bwahahaha!

And Sinful, sinful me...
By murder points you mean killing the inventor the first time? Or the poor ice hippo? Did that... still couldn't top 80 sin... makes me sad. If I'm gonna play evil I want to be so evil people flinch from my girl's name. Razz

Not that I am, like, 110 play hours on this bloody game and counting up fast.
Nuh uh. Nope. Rolling Eyes

Edit: I fail at color scrolling. Mmm touchpads. Rolling Eyes

Iirc it's killing the inventor and the goblin children that count as murders.

But you'll still probably just end up a Conqueror - there isn't an evil demon terrorising the land ending. Yet.

There are some endings where murder-sin points will change the outcome even if your total sin was low, though.

If you are doing an expansion, i think there should be more "evil" endings. like a queen or princess of darkness. lol there should be a prince of darkness to marry XD or queen of thiefs or evil witch or king's concubine.
and for good endings....i really don't know lol there are actually a good amount of good endings in this game. I haven't finished the game yet but I don't think there is an artist, model, or dancer. um i mean charisma could be used to make her a noble lady. i don't think there's a teacher either. I would really want a faery ending though ^ ^. lol ignore other suggestions except the faery and princess/queen of darkness one.

P.S.: I was just thinking as a joke ending, she can become one of Santa's helpers XD lol or for any holiday like cupid's helper. I'm blanking out on holidays.

Sorry for long post of suggestions. I'm just excited to here about an expansion XD. I just love this game so much!!!

  • Not a marrige option, but I found out what happens to Alaric if you don't marry him...
    In the 'Prime Minister' Ending:
"Fortunately, Prince Alaric fell in love with Princess Michiko of the neighboring kindgom, enabling them to make a strong alliance...

Heh, I love when games do that! ^^

I'm just wondering... do you marry Gordy in the housewife ending? Because I got that, only I married "a jovial man" or something. No names. Then againn, I did run out of dream rather early in the game...

    crystallinity

    #63 by crystallinity - Jan 11 2010

  • Yeah. I think you need to have him not think you're boring first-- that's what I did. When you get up to the first XP level, he's nicer when you talk to him. Then his dad says how Gordy's wife will inherit the farm.

secondly Smile if it isn't added i think that should be an update as a new ending Home wrecker >< considering he is meant to be getting married and all >< .........

unless there is a ending with him ...............

As for Taran if you haven't worked it out:Go to the desert and work as a scribe / talk to the mystic / take astronomy classes until you meet Taran, learn his name, and find out why he came to the kingdom. After this he will appear at the desert oasis as a regular character so you can speak to him.

Raise your Luck and Charm, and go to the dance contest at the Midsummer Festival. This unlocks a new chat option for Taran, and he will ask you to dance with him. If your Luck and Charm together are at least 120, he will be impressed with your grace and skill.

After that, once you have turned 20, he will propose.
