Yes, I finally have a screenshot to tease your interest with. Development is moving along nicely but there's still a long way to go (and a lot more art to acquire) so I can't guess when it will be finished.

i love it, doesn't detract too much from the original. The I think she is a chef or a baker women is adorable and the males have been nicely done, how many different endings if CKK going to have?

There must be a lot of endings...lol...in the first I always ended up getting like the same endings.

Hi Hanako, I am just a little confused. The screenshot looks awesome, but will it just be called Cute Knight Kingdom and have nothing to do with it whatsoever?

I don't want to give too much detail, partly for spoiler reasons, partly because the game's still being written and many things are subject to change as they turn out to be less good ideas in practice.

What is the same:
You play a girl from the ages of 18 to 21, who can perform many different jobs, raise many different stats, fight monsters, find treasure, and have many different endings to the game.

What's not the same:
The character - it's a totally different girl in a different setting with a different background story.
The scope - instead of taking place in just one town, the game covers a whole kingdom, thus the title. (Of course, it's not that BIG a kingdom... but there are different locations to visit and a lot more characters to talk to.)
Some of the interface is changed, like being able to walk around from place to place.

It should feel very much like a logical continuation to the series. Some things the same, some things different, some things bigger.

The face looks wrong somehow. Too doll-like. Its veering into uncanny-valley territory.

Well, that *is* a dress-up paperdoll at that point, after all! That's not the same picture that's used for dialog, or jobs, or endings, or...

Anyway, if you stare at any individual image long enough, it starts to look funny. Wait and see!

Even if I had all the boy-art finished I couldn't show you that yet because most of it's spoilers... it won't be obvious right away who all the marriage options are, you'll have to actually meet people and talk to them. Some are hiding.

There will be strategy guides and hints and such posted when the game's finished so you can spoil yourself if you want to, but not until then.

I can't speak for Hanako, but AFAIK she probably has a release day estimate in her head, but as far as we're concerned it is, WiD (When it's Done).

We'll have to be all detectively to find all of the datable boys. *Puts on Sherlock Holmes hat like Sana* Hehehehe.

Some rough updates on progress:

Currently there are 36 unique pictures in the ending gallery - some pictures go with more than one ending, and most of the endings have at least one variant, things like how well you do at your career, who you marry, whether it works out, etc. Slightly smaller gallery, but still an awful lot of things to find.

Of the endings, 15 are special events that can be reached before the "end" of the game (before running out of dream or turning 21). These include weddings, but they're not all weddings!

I expect to have all of the story and code written by the end of the month, BUT! The art will not be complete for a while after that. My guess is that it should be out by November.

Wow that sounds awesome! A ton of endings...^_^ and a projected November released. Hehe, by then I won't be poor anymore!!

Wow the GUI looks great. Nice and sleek. I like the portrait too. ^_^ It's different. Now I'm curious about the fan, whether it's just a decoration or some meter or something.

Oh wow, I didn't even notice the skill selection buttons (I'm guessing) for whether or not you want the day to focus on either skill? In this case they seem to be Exhertion and Concentration.

That's cool and deep if I'm right. ^_^

Oh it makes sense now: You can waste extra hp/mp to make the day's work successful if you're not very good at a particular job.
